Established in 1879, Emerald State School is home to 390 students from the central and business district of Emerald. Emerald SS is the oldest school in the district and is currently in its 130th year of education. Students needs are catered to by 40 dedicated staff. Emerald SS is a State School that caters for boys and girls from prep to year 7.
Emerald is a vibrant growing district, supporting a diverse range of industries. Coal and Sapphire Mining, Cotton, Grain, Beef, Citrus, and Viticulture industries all co-exist within the surrounds of the township. Emerald State's curriculum has been designed to suit the needs of the diverse community. Excellence programs in Music are available, and the school has an excellent record for Eisteddfod competitions in recent years. The school also strives to offer a comprehensive curriculum, tailored to suit the needs of each student. |
